Principal

Ray BerkRay Berk graduated with Honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1977, and began his practice as a trial lawyer at a large national law firm representing international corporate clients. Ray left that firm in the early 1980’s to team up with Mike Pohl at a start-up boutique litigation firm. Since that time, he has continued to limit his practice to trial work, and has successfully represented clients in a variety of matters, including defective products, harmful drugs, medical malpractice, complex business disputes, maritime deaths, vehicle rollovers that resulted in catastrophic injuries, fires causing serious burns, aviation crashes, asbestos, and 18 wheeler accidents.

Ray has tried numerous cases in both state and federal court. He is licensed in the Federal Court of Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas, and all state courts in Texas and Tennessee.

The focus of Ray’s practice has been the representation of individuals who have suffered serious injury because of the negligence of others, and businesses that have been harmed by the wrongful acts of other corporations.

Because of Ray’s success, and his ability to quickly evaluate a problem and formulate a solution, he has been hired by many clients to either negotiate on their behalf, or offer them guidance in their lawsuits. This has included litigation in England involving one of the largest bank failures in history, and in Switzerland involving bank fraud and conversion. In addition to the clients Ray represents in the United States, he is currently advising clients (some of whom are foreign nationals) on lawsuits pending in Pakistan and Lichtenstein.

Ray is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Association for Justice, the Tennessee Association for Justice, American Bar Association, The State Bar of Texas, and the Tennessee Bar Association.
