Bystander hurt in building demolition

Posted on March 27th, 2012 No Comments

Last Sunday the Amway Arena, where the Orlando Magic used to play, was demolished. While the demolition went as planned, a bystander about two blocks away from the arena was injured by flying debris.

The man was hit on his leg by debris and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. According to police, the 33 year-old man was hit in the shin by an eight-inch piece of rebar. His wife says he suffered a broken fibula and will have surgery this week.

The authorities have also said that the president of Dykon Explosive Demolition Corp. went to the hospital to pay for the man’s medical expenses.
