An Iowa woman has filed a medical negligence lawsuit against a hospital and its doctors after she and her son were injured during delivery. After arriving at the hospital in active labor, she was forced to wait for more than eight hours before being taken in for surgery.
As a result of a delayed and botched Caesarean section, her son was born with a skull deformity, a skull fracture, and subdural hemorrhages.
The mother also sustained a lacerated bladder during surgery, which later became infected and led to a pelvic abscess, bowel obstruction, and a wound separation that forced her to use a feeding tube.
