A 12 year-old Greene County boy was killed Thursday morning after he was fatally struck by a school bus. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the boy was following his sister onto the bus when the driver, not seeing him, accelerated.
The Chuckey Doak Middle School seventh grader was killed at the scene. State Highway Patrol reports that the boy was suspended from the bus for a week prior to the incident and was not suppose to be allowed on until the following Monday.
The 62 year-old bus driver has not yet been charged for the accident. Tennessee Highway Patorl says charges are pending as the investigation is still ongoing.
