Nursing home workers fired for abusing patient

Posted on April 20th, 2012 No Comments

Two nursing home workers in Oklahoma were fired and arrested this week after family members discovered the women had been abusing their 96 year-old relative who suffers from dementia. The family installed a hidden camera in her room and caught the abuse on tape.

According to the police, one female nurse is seen slapping the patient with a rubber glove and then stuffing the glove in the elderly woman’s mouth while the other nurse stood and watched. In another incident, a nurse is seen lifting the woman onto the bed and then pushing her head until she laid down.

The 23 and 28 year-old women have each been charged with neglect by caretaker.
