Two different types of dog food made by Diamond Pet Foods have been voluntarily recalled after learning the products may have been exposed to Salmonella. There have been no reports of dogs falling ill.
Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice Formula dry dog food and Diamond Puppy Formula dry dog food are the subject of the recall. The Lamb Meal & Rice Formula product sold in six, 20, and 40 pound increments with expiration dates in January 2013 should not be used and discarded.
The Puppy Formula sold in six ounce samples, eight, 20, and 40 pound increments with expiration dates in April and January 2013 should also be thrown out. Pet owners who have purchased this product can get a refund or replacement by contacting Diamond Pet Foods.
