Man charged in pedestrian accident

A Nashville man has been charged with two felony counts of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly hit two pedestrians while he was drunk. He turned himself in to police Saturday night.

The two people he hit, a 22 and 23 year-old man, are in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The man then drove over a median and hit a taxi before escaping on foot. His 21 year-old girlfriend was in the car and suffered minor injuries.

His girlfriend is facing two counts of vehicular assault since she allowed her boyfriend to drive her car while he was allegedly intoxicated.
