Police recently apprehended New York City native rapper, Niatia Kirkland, for driving violations including speeding, an article of PIX 11 reported on March 10.
At around 4:00 a.m., an officer saw the 26-year-old rapper, who is well-known for her stage name “Lil Mama,” driving a vehicle with a speed of around 38 mph in a 25 mph zone near West 135th Street and Fifth Avenue. Kirkland failed to show a valid driver’s license due to suspension for unknown reasons. There were no reports of injuries or property damage due to this incident. Police took Kirkland into custody peacefully.

A Columbia, Tennessee shop owner was nearly crushed to death after a crazed driver drove his pickup truck into a convenience store late last week.
The 40 year-old male driver was trying to kill his girlfriend, says authorities. She had been running to down the street, trying to escape from her boyfriend, when she ran into the convenience store. A security camera inside the store shows the truck ramming into the glass store front and crushing the owner between toppled shelves.
Luckily, the owner and the girlfriend were able to escape with only minor injuries. The angry boyfriend left his truck and tried to make a getaway in a witness’ car but crashed into a truck. He has since been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and theft.

A small-town mayor is fighting crime with his own hands. Over the weekend, the mayor nearly escaped getting hit by a car after he chased down the driver who left the scene of an accident.
Witnesses say the mayor was walking down the street when a truck ran into a parked car in a bar’s parking lot. The driver of the truck continued down the road until he stopped at a red light. The town’s mayor then ran after the truck to stop him from leaving he scene. But the man continued to drive after the light turned green, despite the mayor standing in front of his vehicle.
Luckily, the mayor was not seriously injured and able to get a good description of the man and his truck. Arrests were made the next day and the driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated assault.
