To pedestrians were struck and injured Sunday night when a pickup truck hit them on Buffalo Valley Road in Cookeville. According to the Herald Citizen, the two adults were seriously hurt in the accident.
The two pedestrians were walking with four other people, two adults and two children, but they were not injured. Cookeville police say the street has no lights or sidewalks, and that the darkness likely contributed to the street’s dangerous environment.
One of the victims was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital and is in critical condition. The other is reported to be in stable condition at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
