A top-selling sunscreen lotion in the U.S. was voluntarily by W.S. Badger Co. Inc. The recalled sunscreens are the 4 oz. SPF 30 kids and baby sunscreen lotions and were discovered to potentially have harmful microbial contaminants, according to a NEW News report on Wednesday, September 25.
The sunscreens may be contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida parapsilosis, and Acremonium fungi, which are considered harmful to intended users and even animals. Its maker said the affected products passed the required initial testing, but its preservatives “had been compromised” after a routine re-test was done.
As of yet, no reports of illness have been brought forward, but consumers who bought the recalled products were advised to return the products for a refund.
