A four-month old infant and a 45 year-old man were killed Sunday morning after the man rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Highway 11-E in Greene County. A 33 year-old female passenger was injured, but her condition is unknown.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver of the tractor-trailer was rear-ended as he was crossing the intersection of Highway 11-E and Bridge Burners Boulevard.
The accident report states that the driver and passenger were not wearing their seatbelts and the infant was not properly restrained. Low visibility due to heavy fog is believed to be a major factor in the accident. Criminal charges are currently pending.
