A Nashville man has been charged with drunk driving and murder after a single-car accident on Interstate 71 killed his passenger.
The 51 year-old man told police he had been drinking before the crash Sunday night in Louisville, Kentucky. According to police, his vehicle was speeding down the interstate when he lost control near the Interstate 264 split and rolled several times, landing on its roof.
The 48 year-old passenger was declared dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He has since pleaded not guilty to the charges. The man has had previous run-ins with the law, including charges of assault and drug paraphernalia.
