Man gets 7th DUI on lawnmower

A 48-year-old Oliver Springs man was arrested for his seventh drunk driving charge, this time for riding a John Deere lawnmower on the side of Tri-County Boulevard in Anderson County while intoxicated.

The man pleaded guilty to the DUI charges and was sentenced to two years in jail and a $3,000 fine. Due to his excessive arrests for drunk driving, he has also been ordered to pay more than $10,000 for violating probation.

According to the arresting officer, the man had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. He later failed a series of field sobriety tests, the Tennessean reports.
