The victim of a pedestrian-car accident has been identified as a local 32 year-old man. He was struck just after 2am Thursday morning and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 21 year-old man, told law enforcement that he had been drinking that night, but a breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit. He blew a 0.06; the legal limit is 0.08. He has not been charged for the accident.
Police found the man face down on the ground and believe he may have been lying down when he was hit. An autopsy is to be conducted surrounding his peculiar positioning.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
