Passenger faces charges of vehicular homicide

A 21 year-old woman who let her boyfriend drive drunk is now facing charges of vehicular homicide and assault after her boyfriend struck and killed two pedestrians last December.

After a night of drinking, the woman believed her 23 year-old boyfriend was sober enough to drive. After hitting the two pedestrians, he drove over a median and struck a taxi cab. Both could face up to 30 years in prison on vehicular homicide charges.

In Tennessee, vehicular homicide charges can apply to persons who knowingly allow an intoxicated individual to drive. In 2007, Titans quarter back Steve McNair was charged for allowing a drunk friend to drive. He was later dismissed of all charges.
