Federal authorities recently expressed concern that automakers might not be doing their best to repair all the vehicles that still have defective Takata airbags in them. The airbags are linked to fatal and serious injuries, a November 3 article of Fortune reported.
According to the head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Honda manufactured many of the vehicles still equipped with defective airbags. Takata airbags worldwide are under recall because they can explode during emergency situations. In doing so, they could inflict serious or fatal injuries to occupants who are struck with metal parts from the broken airbag inflator.

Approximately 60,000 home elevators in the U.S. are under recall due to a defect that may cause serious injuries to intended users, according to a report of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Reports said the Porta “residential elevators” are equipped with a plastic lock that may open the landing door before the elevator car arrives. Homeowners who own the potentially faulty elevators are at high risk of sustaining serious fall injuries if they walk through the elevator door before its car arrives. Although no one was reportedly injured before the recall was issued, the Illinois-based company is aware of two elevator lock failure incidents. Porta told consumers to refrain from using the elevators and contact their maintenance provider for a free lock replacement.

Approximately 118,000,000 gallons of propane gas sold in the U.S. and Canada has been recalled due to insufficient odorant levels, according to a February 12 report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Reports said the Propane (LP) Gas manufactured by Crescent Point Energy Corp. may not be easily detected by consumers when a leak takes place due to the weak odorant levels. Gas is required to include enough odorant for consumers to be able to smell the product right away in the event of a leak.
The affected propane gas was distributed for personal and commercial consumption. Consumers are at risk of suffering serious injuries from burns or explosions if they fail to detect leaking propane gas. Though the Canadian company has not received any reports of incidents involving the recalled propane gas, they asked consumers to immediately notify their gas supplier and to refrain from examining the tanks by themselves.
