A four year-old Davidson County girl died Sunday afternoon at Monroe Carell Hr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt after she was found at the bottom of an in-ground swimming pool Saturday night, News Channel 5 reports.
A neighbor and former firefighter was able to clear the young girl’s lungs but could not get a pulse before emergency responders arrived. In a press release from the Metro Nashville Police Department, her death has been ruled an accident according to its initial investigation.
It is not clear at this time if there were any adults near the pool when the accident occurred. Family says a ten year-old boy playing lifeguard found the girl and brought her out of the pool.
