The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is planning to install traffic signs on two interstate highways to potentially reduce or prevent incidents of rollover accidents in the area, Fox 17 News reported on June 29.
According to TDOT, the state is reviewing the split of I-40 and I-24 to see where they can most strategically place the new signage. TDOT said that in the month of June alone, there were three rollover accidents that took place in the area. The vehicles that rolled over were all tractor trailers. TDOT personnel said that excessive load weight was a factor in all three recent rollover accidents. Metro Nashville Police Department added that excessive speed was a factor in the rollover that happened several days ago.
