Roughly 593,000 units of Subaru vehicles are being recalled due to a defect that could cause serious injuries to occupants, a September 30 report of Fox 6 stated.
Reports revealed that the 2010-2014 models of Outback and Legacy vehicles were equipped with windshield wipers that could catch fire if they emitted too much heat. Subaru explained that overheating of the wiper motors may occur if the wiper arm is blocked by snow from working properly. Subaru and federal regulators were unsure if there are incidents of injuries or crashes involving the recalled vehicles. Subaru dealers will address the problem by offering a free repair and component replacement in the affected vehicles.
